Shimelle's Sketch of the Week August 3

Here's my take on Shimelle's Sketch of the Week (my favorite new challenge to play along with).  I used up some of my August Counterfeit Kit as well!

It might be kind of hard to tell in the photo, but Maddy's shorts are made from
patchwork fabric.  So choose the "patchwork" patterned paper, fabric ribbon,
and added zig zag stitching around the layout.  I love those shorts,
they were definitely an inspiration on this layout!

August Counterfeit Kit Layouts

A few layouts with my August 2011 Counterfeit Kit... It's amazing, I have 2 Single Page Layouts in here!!!  And those of you who know me, know I ONLY make Double Pages.  Not to worry, these single page layouts are for the beginning and ending pages of two of my scrapbooks.  LOL  This month I created the Main Kit and the Limited Edition Kit as my Counterfeit Kits.

I only took one picture of this day (amazing, right)...
so it was perfect for the first page of an album.



Ever since the day my son, Hunter, was born, 
I couldn't wait to scrapbook a page and title it "Easter Egg Hunter"
... 2 1/2 years later, I FINALLY got to do just that! 



Tons of photos, but I couldn't narrow it down anymore...
I LOVE using most of my pictures in my scrapbooks.

And another layout with just one picture...
perfect for the last page of another album!

I just loved these pictures of my daughter and my nephew
after an Easter egg hunt!

The tutorial for this "friends" title is up on the Counterfeit Challenge blog today.

My first reall attempt at making a home studio with
a fabric backdrop on my driveway...I was happy
with the results!

And one bonus layout, I didn't use my kit(s) on this one, but wanted to share it anyway :)

A Few Random Layouts to Share

I have been inspired to share some of my layouts on my blog.  I only create double page layouts with multiple photos, apparently  there are not a lot of resources for these type of layouts.  I hope that my layouts can provide some inspiration.  Here are a couple of my layouts from last week.

Counterfeit Kit Chellenge Design Team Blog Hop July 2011

Thank you for joining us on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Master Forger Blog Hop.  This is the last stop on the hop today, I hope you picked up some inspiration and ideas about how to use up your flower stash (if you are anything like me, it is rather large).  This month's challenge was to use flowers in a creative way.  I decided to use flowers and felt pieces that were in my "Liberty Crossing" Add-On Kit.  I used lots of red, white, and blue flowers in various sizes, a few felt stars, and some brads to create these "firework" embellishments.  When I use them on a layout, I intend on creating the little "light trails" with the silver pipe cleaners that I also included in my Counterfeit Kit.  Thank you so much for playing!

I also wanted to share the 2 layouts I made with my "Liberty Crossing" Add-On Kit.



5 Guys Burgers and Fries opened in town this past spring...so we had to try it out...YUMMY!!!!



All 4 cousins playing in the wagon...the colors just happened to match the Liberty Crossing Add-On

Which brings my total for July to 8-double page layouts using my July Counterfeit Kit and Add-Ons!   I also have photos pulled to create about 3 more double page layouts!  So all in all, July was a productive month!

Layouts with July Counterfeit Kit

I finished up 2 layouts last night.  Both from my July Counterfeit Kit.

My favorite part of this layout was part of the title...the layout is about the beaded necklace that my daughter made, so I used some of the "alphabet" beads to spell "homemade" in my title!

Shimelle's Sketch of the Week, july 6th, 2011

I recently started reading Shimelle's blog, I love it!  I decided to play along with her sketch of the week this week.  Although her sketch was only one page, I created a two-page layout, I just improvised the second page. I used some of my July Counterfeit Kit on this one too!
